Two full-fledged Bangladeshi missions in Poland and Denmark will be opened this year, Foreign Minister AHM Mahmood Ali told Parliament on Tuesday.
"All the process to set up two more full-fledged Bangladeshi missions in Poland and Denmark has been finalised. The two missions will go into operation this year," he said responding to a tabled starred question from ruling Awami League MP Mahjabeen Khaled (Reserved seat-18).
The Foreign Minister said a process of setting up Bangladeshi missions in Kabul of Afghanistan, Khartoum of Sudan and Freetown of Sierra Leone got approval of the Public Administration Ministry and now is awaiting the Finance Ministry's endorsement.
Besides, the Public Administration Ministry approved the process of setting up Bangladeshi full-fledged Addis Ababa of Ethiopia, Bucharest of Romania, Abuja of Nigeria and Algiers of Algeria, and Deputy High Commission in Chennai and Assistant High Commission in Guwahati of India, Mahmood Ali told the House.
Now there are 69 Bangladeshi missions in 53 countries across the world. Of them, 52 are full-fledged missions, two permanent ones, eight consul generals offices, three deputy missions, three assistant high commissions' offices and one consulate, the minister added.    ?UNB
