Wicket keeper-batsman Liton Das was in the T20 and Test squad against Pakistan. But he did not get his expected debut. The consistence performance of Liton in the domestic cricket made himself one of the strong players to get chance in the main squad. Tough it was not happen in Pakistan series, he has a great opportunity to make his debut with the Test against India.
The selectors and the team management also gave the indication that Liton will play as Mushfiq may not keeping in the Test.
However Liton considering the Test as the real test and he is ready to face that. Talking to the media after practice session at Fatullah on Sunday he said, "Test is the main cricket. All players have the dream to play Test. If I get my debut in the India series with the Test I will think I am lucky.  Test is a game of patient. The name of the game is Test that means exam. Now I have to appear in the test and I have to pass the test."
It is natural to be excited in when a player has the chance to get debut in Test. But Liton feeling nothing but will feel lucky if he get the debut against India in Test.
He said, "Actually I am not so excited. My plan is to play any time in any situation. If I get the chance I will feel lucky. Because, India always remain in the top three in the Test ranking. The feelings will be different if I get debut against India."
Mainly he is a top opening batsman and scored the record 1024 runs in seven matches with five hundred in the National League. He also scored second highest 686 runs in the Premier League.
If he gets chance he may have to bat in the middle-lower order. But he thinks it will create no problems as he had the experience to bat in the lower order.
"I have the experience playing in lower order. For the last 2-3 years I have been playing for opening. But earlier, I played at the number 6-7 from the beginning, "he said.
He also said that he had no problem to play in any position for the team's need.
Liton is used to playing shot to scoring runs which is deferent from the Test format. But he believes it will create no problem as he said, "this is not a problem. I will play my own game considering the situation of the team. It will be understandable in the field that what I need to do, hitting the ball or stay in the wicket."
Liton have to keep in front of the regular keeper Mushfiq if he gets chance which may put some pressure on him. But he said, "This is not in my mind. My duty is to field and I will do that."
Regarding his role model he said, "The truth is that I do not follow any one in the country. But outside the country I follow Mark Boucher and Michael Clarke.'
