Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College authority on Monday decided to fire cleaner Gopal and to take legal action against him for trying to sexually assault a class I student.
The Trustee Board at a meeting also decided to remove English Medium (girls) vice principal Zinnatun Nesa for her indecent remarks about and behaviour with some students and guardians over the issue.
At the same time, the authority condemned the ‘attacking approach’ of some guardians and outsiders during their protest.
After the meeting, a notice containing the decisions has been hung on the school gate.
In the notice, the school authority said proper steps have been taken soon after receiving allegation of an attempt to sexual harassment of a student. After investigation, the probe-body identified cleaner Gopal as an accused of the incident, it added.
Earlier on Saturday, the school authority announced the removal of the vice principal in the face of widespread protests.
On May 9, a guardian submitted a complaint to the school authority alleging that a male employee tried to sexually assault her daughter and a grade one student on May 5.
