Dinajpur: A Bangladesh national was gunned down by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Dhormojoin border point in Birol upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 33, son of Habibur Rahman, a resident of Bonbari village of Haripur upazila in Thakurgaon district.
Witnesses said BSF members opened fire on several people in the area around 6am, leaving Razzak dead on the spot and then took away his body to their camp.
Meanwhile, BSF confirmed Bangladesh Border guard (BGB) about the incident but they did not ascertain the deceased's identity. BGB has sent a letter to BSF to inform them about his identity.
Nur Islam, Chairman of the Dhormopur union, confirmed about the deceased's identity.
