General Secretary of Shushasoner Jonno Nagorik (SUJAN) Badiul Alam Majumder said that BNP's boycott of the election was unfortunate.
"It was too early to take such a drastic decision," he said while talking to a private television channel.
While casting his vote at 9:00am he saw the election  was going on fairly and enthusiastically. But the reports afterwards give a negative picture, he said.
He was against all sorts of poll violence for the sake of giving democracy an institutional shape. "In democracy, there should be tolerance to opposition's opinion," he said adding that the national progress and prosperity would be a distant dream unless we can build a democratic society in its true form.
