220 Bangladeshis brought home, more evacuation planned

Diplomatic Correspondent Hundreds of the Bangladesh nationals, including the women's football team stranded in Kathmandu have been airlifted home by a special military flight and other commercial flights on Tuesday. Bangladesh ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams for Nepal stated that and those Bangladeshis living in quake stricken Nepal are safe. No Bangladeshi nationals visiting or living in Nepal have been reported to be injured by major earthquake and after-shock, says a press release signed by Nripendra Chandra Debnath, Director (media) of External Publicity Wing of the Foreign Ministry. "I have not heard about any casualties of Bangladeshis so far. But the mobile phone networks are down in many areas, so we could not reach many of them," said Ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams last evening.
