Rakhshanda Rukham, Lead, Google Women Techmakers Bangladesh
Skill will always be held in higher esteem than your gender, If you had no skill, you would not be part of the discussion, and your gender is simply a modifier. And my goal is to empower women and develop their skills in technology so that the gender will not be a modifier any more. It is very essential to ensure participation from girls to reach the vision of Digital Bangladesh.
The first step in fixing a problem is acknowledging that it exists so I take an initiative to empower women so that the discrepancy in tech can no longer exists and Bangladesh can see the brightest future with the participation of both man and woman. According to Bangladesh the perception of high school girls that they are simply not good at technology is simply incorrect, they are first adopters.
The focusing point is that women may be better than men when it comes to leading a technology start-up. But It is likely that many woman haven't considered a career in technology to begin with .Women have an important role in tech in Bangladesh and I have made a decision to change the scenario of the participation of women in tech industry and facilitate them with every resources to make them special in programming, developing, designing and other technical sectors.
This is not to say that every woman in a technology company will be an expert in how to create products for women but certainly technology companies could benefit from an understanding of the perspectives and needs of the "largest single economic force" in Bangladesh. I have dreamed to create a supportive global community in which women can connect, be inspired, and encourage each other to realize their passions.
