Diplomats from 16 countries met senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office on Tuesday.
The visit was aimed at inspecting the vehicles, which were vandalised when Khaleda Zia was campaigning at Karwan Bazar on Monday.
BNP Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, chief of the four-member party delegation, narrated the incident to the diplomats in the meeting.
The diplomats from India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Russia, and EU were among those who attended the meeting.
After around 45-minute-long meeting, Khaleda's security and Defence Affairs Adviser Maj Gen (Retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar showed the foreign envoys a scratch in the window screen of the BNP chief's personal vehicle claiming it to have been caused by a bullet fired by the attackers.
The BNP leaders also showed them blood-stained spots in the vehicle. Four others damaged microbuses of Khaleda's security men during the attack were also shown to the diplomats.
