CHITTAGONG, Apr 20: A Chittagong court here on Monday sentenced a person to life imprisonment for killing his minor stepson in Patenga thana area of the port city in 2003.
Judge of 4th Additional Metropolitan Session court Sayeda Hosney Ara handed down the verdict convicting Shah Azgor for strangulating the child Mohammad Alamgir, 10, to death over family feud.
The court also fined the convict Tk 10 thousand and in default to suffer two months more imprisonment.
Victim's mother filed a case with Patenga thana against the convict on August 3, 2003.
The court framed charges against him on April 5 in 2004. The court found Azgor guilty.
Azgor was present in the court while delivering the verdict.
