The historic Mujibnagar Day was observed in the districts -Bhola, Chandpur, Khagrachhari, Kishoreganj, Rangamati,  Thakurgaon and Pirojpur as elsewhere in the country on Friday amid much enthusiasm and in a befitting manner.
BHOLA: Marking the day, district administration arranged a discussion meeting at Kobi Mojammel Hoque town hall in the district town. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, was chief guest at the meeting, while Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Md. Selim Reza chaired the programme.
Among others, Zila Parishad Administrator and Secretary of Awami League, Bhola district unit, Abdul Momin Tulu and Police Super Md. Moniruzzaman also spoke.
CHANDPUR: On the occasion, district administration arranged a discussion meeting at its conference room about 10am. Deputy Commissioner of the district Md Ismail Hossain attended the meeting as chief guest.
Among others, political party leaders and activists, Muktijoddha Sangsad, govt officers, social organisers, and local elites were present in the meeting.
KHAGRACHHARI: In this connection, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of district administration. Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari Muhammad Waheduzzaman chaired the meeting.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner ATM Kausar Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Enayet Hossain Mannan, General Secretary of Khagrachhari District Awami League Md Jahedul Alam, District Juba League President Jatan Kumar Tripura, District Chatra League President Iqbal Bahar, District Corruption Prevention Committee President Sudarsan Dutta and many others also spoke. Khagrachhari Press Club President Jiten Barua read out the keynote paper.
Speakers in the discussion urged all to create awareness among mass people including future generation about historic Mujibnagar Government that was formed on April 17, 1971.
KISHOREGANJ: Marking the day, a meeting was held at the conference room of the district collectorate office on Friday. SM Alam, Deputy Commissioner, Kishoreganj, presided over the meeting.
Among others, Advocate M.A. Afzal, general in-charge of district Awami League, Advocate Md. Jillur Rahman, Zila Parishad administrator, Jamil Ahmed, additional deputy commissioner (General), Md. Emdadul Hoque Chowdhury, deputy director of Local Government, PP Shah Azizul Hoque, president of District Bar, Liton Kumer Saha, additional police super, Nurul Islam Nuru, ex-mayor of Kishoreganj Municipality, Advocate Nasir Uddin Faruqi, Usha Rani Debi, Bilkis Begum, Basir Uddin Faruqi, Advocate Bhupendra Chandra Bhowmick Dolon, president of Gonotontri Party, Kishoreganj district unit, Abu Khaled Pathan, educationist, Advocate Nazrul Islam Nuru, Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, journalists Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu and Alam Sarowar Tito, and Samiul Hoque Mollah also spoke on the occasion.
The District Awami League held a discussion meeting on this occasion at its office in the district town.
RANGAMATI: Marking the day, Rangamati district administration arranged a discussion meeting at the Zila Parishad conference room on Friday morning. Deputy Commissioner of the district Md. Shamshul Arefin chaired the meeting while Member of Parliament Feroza Begum Chinu was chief guest.
Among others, Civil Surgeon of Rangamati Dr. Snaho Kanti Chakma, Additional District Magistrate Saif Uddin Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Mostafa Jaman, President of Rangamati press club Shakwat Hossain Rubel, Assistant Superintended of Police (Sadar Circle) Chitta Ranjan Paul, and local Awami League (AL) leader Rafiqul Mawla also spoke at the meeting.
Earlier in the morning, local AL leaders placed floral wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of its party office. National flag and party flags were also hoisted at the party office.
THAKURGAON: On the occasion, district administration brought out a colourful rally from the deputy commissioner's office premises and after parading the town roads ended at the district Shilpakala Academy.
Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Academy premises. DC Mukesh Chandra Biswas chaired the meeting, while Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Water Resource Ministry Ramesh Chandra Sen MP was chief guest.
Among others, Superintendent of Police Abdur Rahim Shah Chowdhury, Zila Parishad Administrator Sadeque Qureshi and Vice-President of district Awami League Adv Mokbul Hossain Babu attended the meeting as special guests. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Manjur Ralam Pradhan also spoke on the occasion.
Later, prizes were distributed among winners of drawing and essay competitions.
PIROJPUR: Marking the day, district administration organised a meeting on Gopal Krishna town club premises. Deputy Commissioner AKM Shamimul Haque Siddique presided over the meeting.
Among others, AKMA Awal, MP and general secretary of district Awami League, attended the meeting as chief guest, while Md. Shah Abid Hossin, police super, and Laila Irad, district Mahila Awami League president, also attended the meeting as special guests.
