Extend vs Extensive
Extend is a verb that means to make longer or wider, to cover a large area, or to hold out to someone.
For example:
v The city will extend the parking time.
v Florida extends into the Gulf of Mexico.
v The manager extended his hand to welcome me to the new position.
Extensive means to affect a large area.
For example:
v Her reading was extensive.
v The extensive farming techniques yielded a large crop.

A way vs Away
When you say the words a way, you mean one method or avenue.
For example:
v I knew there was a way to solve the puzzle.
But, when you use the word away, you refer to a distance or going from.
For example:
The birds flew away after eating from the bird feeder.
