Six killed in road mishaps

Six persons were killed and eight others wounded in separate road accidents in Gazipur and Sylhet.
According to our Gazipur correspondent, at least three persons were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Kadda area on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Wednesday morning.
Sources concerned said Gazipur-bound Ajmiri Paribahan from Dhaka collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Kadda Baimile area of Gazipur city around 6:00am.
"An 18-year-old unknown girl died on the spot," Salna Highway Police Sub Inspector Md Saiful Islam said, confirming the accident.
Our Sylhet correspondent added three people including a girl were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Balaora Bazar area on Sylhet-Sunamganj highway on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Krishna Chandra Bishwas, 50, son of late Bhakta Bishwas and his daughter Sumita Rani, 20, and Rabeesh Chandra Bishwas, 35, son of Mahesh Bishwas, all were residence of Shiberbazar union of Sylhet Sadar upazila.
