RANGPUR, Apr 15: Rangpur Medical College (RMC) has been declared closed for indefinite period as at least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over observing Pahela Baishakh on Wednesday. Rangpur Medical College Principal Dr Zakir Hussain and SA Kibria, Inspector of Dhap Police Outpost confirmed the matter adding that suspended RMC BCL president 'Sarwar Alam and RMC GS Farhan Rahman had an altercation over observing Pahela Baishakh on Tuesday night. They locked into a scuffle on Wednesday morning again leaving 10 injured. Later, the Principal and law enforcers rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. The RMC authorities declared the campus closed until the situation turns normal on the campus.
