The Appellate Division has fixed April 28 for hearing the appeals filed by war crimes convict Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury.
Responding to seperate time petitions, filed by Salahuddin and Mujahid, a four-member bench, led by Chief Justice SK Sinha, set the date on Wednesday.
Senior lawyer Khandker Mahbub Hossain was stood for Mujahid and Salahuddin while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam for the state.
On July 17, 2013, the International Crimes Tribunal awarded Mujahid death sentence. Salahuddin was also given the death penalty on October 1, the same year.
Seeking acquittal, Mujahid filed an appeal on August 11 while SQ Chowdhury filed another appeal on October 29 the same year.
