
The inaugural ceremony of the art camp will be held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on April 15 at 10am. Eminent journalist and cultural personality Kamal Lohani; architect and poet Rabiul Hussain; Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy; and Nasir A. Choudhury, managing director and chief executive officer of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited will jointly inaugurate the camp.
About the camp, MA Taher said, "The main objective of the camp is to explore the benefits of aesthetic dialogue
through the varied genres of visual arts. I consider this camp to be a cultural bridge between artists of India and Bangladesh. The artists of India are very friendly and proud of their heritage and independence. At the art camp, Bangladeshi artists will get the opportunity to experiment with several methods and techniques."
The camp will offer the painters an opportunity to exchange views, which bring together a group of over 29 painters -- encouraging exchange of ideas, honing skills and professional development. They will paint in varied genres of art such as realistic, semi-realistic, abstract, abstract expressionism, symbolism and neo-impressionism. Some participants will focus on architectural lines, forms and pure compositions, nature."
Participating Bangladeshi artists are Hashem Khan, Rafiqun Nabi, Mahmudul Haque, Monirul Islam, Farida Zaman, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Jamal Ahmed, Mohammad Eunus, Shamsudohha, Mostafizul Haque, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Nisar Hossain, Sheikh Afzal, Shishir Bhattacharya, Mohammad Iqbal, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, Ranjit Das, Rafi Haque, Rabaani Shamim, Anisuzzaman, Kamaluddin, Sumon Wahid and Kazi Shahid.
