Six people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Noagoan, Gazipur and Pirojpur districts on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Shahidul islam, 45, a resident of Boalbaria village, Bidyut Pramanik, 30, of Debnagar village of Atrai upazila, Samrat Hossain, 38, a resident of Par-Noagoan area in Sadar upazila, Shammi Akter Chumki, 22, a garment worker, Aminul Islam, 45, Babul Talukder, 50, of Darulhuda village.
In Noagoan, three people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a CNG run auto-rickshaw and a truck on Raninagar-Abadpur road in Puthia area of Raninagar upazila in the afternoon.
Police said that the accident took place when the auto-rickshaw collided with the truck in the area around 3:00pm, leaving Shahidul and Samrat dead on the spot.
The injured were admitted to Noagoan sadar hospital where Bidyut succumbed to his injuries.
A case was filed in this connection.
In Gazipur, two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sreepur upazila of the district on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Helalul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Mawna Police Station, said Chumki was killed when a Mymensingh-bound bus ran over her in C&B area on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the upazila around 7:30 am.
In another incident, Aminul of Teper Bari in Sreepur upazila was killed when a bus knocked him down on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in AMC Bazar area of the upazila around 11:30 pm.
In Pirojpur, an elderly man was killed as a human hauler hit him in Togra ferry-ghat area of Bhandaria upazila in the morning. ?UNB
