State minister for home Asaduzzaman Khan on Friday night said, the execution of death row war criminal Muhammad Kamaruzzaman would be completed on Saturday night.
Earlier at night the state minister said "Possibility of execution of Jamaat leader's death is thin today (Friday) and I hope it would be completed on Saturday night."
Earlier, he said final preparations to execute his capital punishment are going on.
Khan disclosed it while answering queries from journalists during attending a function at Shilpakala Accademy in the capital. He, however, quit the venue before starting the function.
Deputy commissioner of Lalbagh zone (police) Mafiz Uddin and jail physician have entered the jail after the evening.
Meanwhile, the security in and around the Dhaka central jail has been tightened after Friday evening.
The number of law enforcers including police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been increased.
Earlier on the day, magistrates visited Kamaruzzaman at Dhaka central jail.
