German medical team to treat burn victims

An eleven member medical team comes to Dhaka  from Germany on April 4 to treat the burn victims of recent political violence in Bangladesh.
The team, coming to Bangladesh under the auspices of "For-Bangladesh  Association", a Germany  based voluntary and social organization dedicated to provide healthcare service to Bangladesh since its inception in
The team that will stay in Bangladesh till April 13 , will work in two groups at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, an Association press release said on Sunday.  
Besides treating the burn patients, the team members will also give advanced training to the local surgeons & nurses. All operations would be recorded on Video, and would be shown live to the local doctors as part of their advance training. At the end of each day, a briefing sessions  would be held with the local doctors.
The team members are : Prof. Dr. Heinz-Herbert Homann, leading surgeon [Plastic, Burn , Hand Surgery] at BGU Hospital, Duisburg, Germany, Dr. Greg Pataki, Interplast, Hungary, , senior plastic surgeon , Dr. Peter Preissler, Senior Surgeon , St. Johannes Hospital, Germany, Dr. Peter Vancso , Interplast - Hungary, senior plastic and burn surgeon, Dr. Marc Kraemer,  Sanego-Augusta Hospital, Germany, Dr. Eva Verga, Interplast Hungary, Anesthetist , Ms. Greta Hesseling , Holland, Senior Nurse  & OP and Brun Trainer, Ms. Carolina Hoerner, Germany , Asst. Surgeon and Eng. Hassnat Mia, President , For Bangladesh Association , Germany and Project Manager.
An opening ceremony would be held  on April 4 at DMCH where the health minister, H.E. German Ambassador to Bangladesh, EU Representative at Dhaka, and other dignitaries,are expected to be present .
The team is also scheduled to held a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to discuss over establishment of a new burn hospital in Bangladesh as well as on other medical cooperation between Bangladesh and Germany/Europe.
