Human Rights Commission chairman Mizanur Rahman on Saturday reminded police of its responsibilites to unearth the mistery of BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed's disappearance.
"Police have to find out him and produce before the people in a bid to prove that they did not arrest the BNP leader," pointed out Mizanur Rahman while addressing a discussion at RC Majumdar Auditorium on the Dhaka University campus.
Salahuddin's family alleged he was picked up from a house at Uttara in the capital on March 10. BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed had been issuing statements of hartal during the 20-party alliance movement.
His wife Hasina Ahmed claimed that DB police picked her husband. On the contrary, law enforcing agencies had denied the allegations.
Drawing attention of IGP A K M Shahidul Haque, Human Rights Commission chairman said, "You have been claiming that you have not arrested Salahuddin and trying to trace him. I would earnestly tell you that I would believe you if you produce Salahuddin at the shortest possible time".
