Observer iClub, young information technology forum of The Daily Observer celebrated the 'World Pi Day' and the birthday of the great scientist Albert Einstein in association with Meghnath Saha Science Club(MSSC) at Savar on March.
The Pie Day was celebrated all over the year with a different mode this year. The first five digit of the value of pie is most similar with the date. We started out programme by flying a pie symbol that contained a value of pie with one lakh digits. Savar iClub organizer Nafis Ahmed said: It is a great opportunities for us. Keep look on the value of Pi. The day we have observered is very similar to the value of the Pi. MSSC always try to bring innovations to the young science learners in collaboration with Observer iClub.
Earlier, Observer iClub members celebrated the the birthday of Pie by cutting a tasty chocolate cake. The main program started in the afternoon. The members of MSSC celebrated the magical pi day that comes by only once every hundred years, by cutting a cake.
This is pi day, also Einstein's birthday. Uchsas Tousif, Academic Executive of MSSC talked about the great scientist Albert Einsteins life of this great scientist. His works, inventions, funny stories was included there. This day, MSSC started a new weekly science lecture programme, named 'Biggan Alapon' (Science Talks). 1st episode of this program held on Pi.
Omer Faruq, the President of MSSC threw a lecture on pie. He discussed about its invention, necessity, history etc. Pi is the most valuable symbol of science. Biggan Alapon will be arranged twice a month on various topics of science. Every seminar will be lectured by a specialist on following topic. The Inauguration of the 'MSSC science book reading project' was held in this program. The book reading activities among the students will be run under the library of MSSC. The books about scientific research and inventions will be preferred in this library so that the students can get help making their research, projects and papers at ease. Anyone can donate old or new books here. The present students expressed their joy of the program in the end. They hoped that, MSSC will continue to arrange such educative programs for the students of Savar in upcoming days.
