Sridharpur win Independence day T20 cricket title

Tohfa Sports and telecom, Sridharpur club won the Independence day T20 cricket tournament title defeating Shekharnagar Union Club by six wickets in the final on Wednesday at the Baroikhali School and Club play ground organized by Baroikhali Progati Sangsad, a socio cultural and sports organization, in the village Baroikhali, under Munshiganj district adjacent to Dhaka since long successfully organizing such kind of events to celebrate the National Days.
A total of eight teams seven from seven villages were Nawbabganj Criket XI, Munshinagar Cricket XI, Baroikhali Progati Sangsad, Soilpur Cricket Club, Agla Torun Sangha, Shekharnagar Union Club, Tohfa Sports and telecom, Sridharpur, and one team from Dhaka named Mohammadpur Cricket club, took part in the league and knock out rounds to reach the final where Shekharnagar Union Club came with favorite tag showing outstanding performance in the earlier rounds, Sridharpur also proved their self that they are also the contender of the title and finally snatched it by six wickets.
Winning the toss, Shekharnagar opted to bat first and skittle out all for 108 runs playing 17.3 balls.
In reply, Sridharpur reached the target just four balls to spare losing four wickets.
Joshi of Sridharpur named the man of the match while Maidul of Shekharnagar became highest wicket takers of the tournament.
Adjacent village people were witnessed the exciting final match with huge funfair.
SM Muktar Hosain, Upozila Social Services Officer distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, president, Baroikhali Progati Sangsad presided over the faction while Abul Kamal, general secretary, Mohammad Pavel, Sports secretary were present along with other honorable and special guests.
