Suranjit Sengupta, Advisory Council Member of the Awami League, expressed concern about the whereabouts of BNP Joint-Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed. He termed such disappearance very worrisome and said it is a 'bad sign' in politics.
"News of Salahuddin Ahmed's disappearance is a 'bad sign' in politics," he said.
Suranjit said this while addressing at a discussion meeting organised by Nouka Samarthak Goshthi on ongoing politics at Diploma Engineers Institute in the capital on Monday afternoon with its President Imdadul Huq Selim in the chair.
Expressing his hope about finding Salahuddin, Suranjit said, "We hope to get news of his whereabouts if we search properly."
Suranjit said the present politics has turned into violent acts which are terrible indications.
"We are heading towards an unknown destination and we do not know the end of it. Politics should be practiced for the welfare of the people," Suranjit said.
Suranjit also alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has instigated violence through her recent speech at a press conference.
"She appeared at the press conference after a long time. People expected that she would call off the agitation programmes and bring an end to the violence and conflicts. But she further instigated the politics of violence," he said.
