Bullet injured Jubo Dal man dies at Dhaka

Laxmipur :  A Jubo Dal activist, who received bullet wounds during a gunfight with police in the district on March 2, died at Orthopedic Hospital in the capital Wednesday morning.

Dead Arif Hossain was an activist of local Jubo Dal and son of Nazrul Islam of Jangalia village in Kamolnagar upazila.

ASP (Sadar) M Junayet Kausar confirmed the death of Arif.

On March 2, a team of patrol police challenged a group of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men in Char Lawrence Berarganj area of Kamolnagar while trying to conduct subversive act.

Police said the alleged saboteurs opened fire on them, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.

Moyeen Uddin and Arif Hossain sustained bullet injuries during the gunfight.

They were admitted to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital under police custody. Later, Arif was shifted to Orthopedic  Hospital following deterioration of his condition.

On the other hand, Arif, while was undergoing treatment at Laxmipur Sadar Hospital, claimed that police detained them and then shot on their legs.
