The Press Information Department on Wednesday sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home affairs to take actions against the Mushfiqul Fazal Ansary and four others journalists as they were abusing their media accreditations.
The media accreditations of Ansary and four others were cancelled due to misuse at home and abroad.
Allegations have been raised against Ansary, once an Assistant Press Secretary to former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, for hiding his political identity and utilizing the United Nations platform as a journalist to attain his otherwise motives.
Ansary somehow managed an identity card for taking an accreditation card to cover news events of the UN, where he is working allegedly on behalf of the so-called nationalist and Islamic forces.
Rafiqul Islam, Assistant Information Officer of Protocol told The Daily Observer, "The media accreditations of five journalists of 'Justnewsbd.com' including its Editor Mushfiqul Fazal Ansary were cancelled due to misuse of the card."
Ansary was widely criticized at home and abroad on February 25 as he was stopped by a UN spokesperson from offering a long comment on Bangladesh's current situation.
Ansary, also a member of BNP's Foreign Affairs Committee, often participates in various programmes as a 'journalist' and this prompted the mission to write to the UN.
Ansary regularly attends programmes of the BNP, its youth wing Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, and other party affiliates in New York and Pennsylvania as the chief, special or an honourable guest.
He allegedly distorts facts on his news portal "Justnewsbd.com".
