Sheikh Jamal confirmed their third title of the Federation Cup Football after beating powerful opponent Muktijoddha SKC by 6-4 margin in the extra time after the scheduled time saw 4-4 draw in the 27th final meet of the Federation Cup Football on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Jamal's Haitian striker Wedson made a hat-trick in the match.
Jamal took the lead in the 6th minute of the match. Their midfielder Mamunul Islam Mamun, who was in the middle of the field, sent a long cross towards midfielder Sohel Rana near the left edge of the D-box in the sixth minute of the match and controlling the ball, Rana pushed it into the box before Emeka Darlington headed on it to hit the net.
The All Reds didn't take too much time to grasp the Yellow side as the levelled the margin in the 7th minute. It was Muktis midfielder Faisal Mahmud who took a long cross aiming the post and Jamal defender Yeamin Ahmed Munna accidentally put it into the middle of the post while he was trying to clear it.
However, Jamal striker Wedson put the team ahead in the 13th minute with a fierce shot.
Mukties equalised the margin for the second time in the 30th minute of the match. Utilising a long through of skipper Enamul Haque, Guinean striker Camara Sarba scored the equaliser nicely.
After levelling the margin, the inspired Red boys went ahead again in the 39th minute. Skipper Enamul headed on a corner kick to score the goal. It was Muktie's Enamul again who upgraded the margin by 4-2 in the 41st minute.
Jamal reduced the margin after the breather. Their Haitian striker Wedson scored his second goal in the 63rd minute. Wedson completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute to equalise the margin.
After the regulation time ended with a 4-4 draw, Jamal's Nigerian striker Darlington scored the match winning goal in the 107th minute after Gambian midfielder Landing cut the ball back to him, Substitute midfielder Rubel Miah scored the 10th and last goal of the match in the 108th minute. Red side was not able to score any goals and this way Jamal boys Keep the Champion trophy and awarded taka five lack while runner-up team got taka three lack.
Jamal's Haitian striker Wedson was named the man of the match and the highest scorer of the tournament with double hat-trick. Also this Haitian was adjusted the most valuable player of the tournament.
