4 workers killed in Sylhet landslide

Sylhet : Four quarry workers were killed in a landslide while extracting stones at Bholaganj in Companyganj upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Emdadul Haque Selim, 42, son of Siddik Ali,  Moin, 40, son of Etim Hossain, Dana Mia, 42, son of Anwar Hossain, and Delwar, 24, son of Shahjalal. All the victims hailed from Kathalbari village in the upazila.

Workers said a big chunk of soil fell on the workers at  9pm when they were extracting stones from the quarry.

On information, police rushed to the scene and with the help of local people recovered the bodies at about 2am.
 
Officer-in-charge of Companyganj police station Delwar Hossain told the Daily Observer that the bodied were handed over to the families on Monday evening.
