Sports Reporter Riding on Wedson's hat-trick, defending champion Sk Jamal DC booked a record breaking 7-0 win in this season over Team BJMC to secure the Group-A Championship while Mohammedan Sporting Club experienced a 1-1 draw with Brothers Union to become the Group-D Champion in Federation Cup Football on Friday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. It is the highest margin win in any meets of the Federation Cup in this season. To blank the green jerseys in their last group meet, Haitian striker Wedson Anselme scored a hat-trick as he hit the net in 24th, 51st and 58th minutes. Midfielder Sohel Rana scored in the 31st minute. Defender Kasto Kumar Bosh hit the net in the 47th minute while Haitian striker Leonel Saint Preux scored the 6th goal in the 72nd minute. Substitute midfielder Rubel Mia sealed the match by 7-0 goals after firing the post in the stoppage time. Apparently, the Jute Mill's team lost to the reserve bench of the Yellow Outfits as Jamal's five heroes, defender Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Yeamin Ahmed, midfielder Mamunul Islam, Jamal Bhuiyan and Nigerian striker Darlington didn't play in the day. In the day's second meet, Brothers Union and Mohammedan both put their best efforts to win the match. For the Black and White side, winning the meet against the Orange jerseys is a matter of keeping the honour while it was very important match for the Gopibag team as well. If Brothers had to concede more than one goal then they might not be able to qualify for the next round. Instead of Brothers, Giant Killers Rahmatganj would go then. After the barren first half, the Gopibag team took the lead in the 59th minute of the match to surprise the Black and White jerseys. Their Haitian striker Augustin Walson scored the opener after receiving a pass from striker Mohammad Roni. However Mohammedan striker Tawhidul Islam Shabuz successfully levelled the margin in the 65th minute of the match. Guinean striker Ismail Bangoura carried the ball toward the danger zone and sent it to Shabuz who was near the post wasted no time to hit the post. Following the win Brothers secured their Quarterfinals. After the matches on Friday, Sk Jamal set their first quarterfinal against Brothers Union on next Tuesday while Mohammedan will play against Soccer Club, Feni on Wednesday.
