A group of journalists on Tuesday called for an immediate end to the continuing violence, in the form of arson attacks across the country in the name of politics.
They made the call from a human chain formed by Shahingshata Birodhi Sangbadik Samaj in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Speakers at the human chain programme said innocent people are being killed and injured in petrol bomb attacks which cannot continue in a civilized country.
They also said the journalists are carrying out their professional responsibilities putting their lives at tremendous risk in country's current political situation.
They urged the political parties to implement democratic and peaceful political programmes shunning the path of violence.
They also demanded the government to take stern action against the petrol bomb hurlers and arson attackers.
