The election of Chittagong City Corporation would be held within second week of June this year.
Sirajul Islam, secretary to the Election Commission, on Tuesday made the announcement while talking to the journalists at the commission in the capital.
The secretary also informed there is no legal bar to hold the election to Chittagong City Corporation before expire of the current tenure.
As Ramadan would begin in the third week of June, voting would be held either in the first or second week, he added.
According to the EC, the tenure of Ctg would be expired on July 25, and the election would have to be arranged within 180 days prior to the expire of tenure.
