Our Correspondent BHOLA, Feb 13: A six-day long water-bird ringing and colour flagging camp at Domar Char, Nijhum Dwip, Hatia, Char Shajalal and Bhola was held from 8 February to 13 February. NACOM and BBC supported by the Bangladesh Forest Department and AWCF arranged the camp. Wildlife biologist and bird ringer Samiul Mohsanin led the camp. The other members of the team are Bill Jones, Stephen Samworth, Omar Shahadat, Md. Mohsin Kabir Miron and Toufiq Elahi. On Friday afternoon, the camp closing day, the lead researcher of the project Samiul Mohsanin, said, during the camp total 29 birds of six species have been ringed and colour flagged by the research team. The bird species that have been ringed are: Small Pratincole, Lesser Sandplover, Temmink's Stint, Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, and Common Redshank.
