
Mahbubar Rahman has an enduring interest in music and books. He has published four books in Bengali: Pancho Banjyan, Pancha Pandaber Charon Bhumi, Obak Alir Nishiddhapolli O Onyanyo Katha and Pancho Sindhu Nadiyo Katha. His writings deal with, among other things, social and political events embedded with a satirical perspective of life.
His book 'In the Land of the Pandavas' is the English version of 'Pancha Pandaber Charon Bhumi'. It is a personal narrative set during the last days of the British Raj in India, and the traumatic events that preceded and followed the period.
Ambassador Abdul Matin Chowdhury, who served Bangladesh as its envoy in different countries; Syed Badrul Ahsan, Associate Editor of The Daily Observer and a veteran writer and journalist; and M. Syeduzzaman, former Minister of Finance of Bangladesh will be the discussants during the launch of the book.
