Transport owners have agreed not to ply buses on highways after 9pm until further notice during the ongoing BNP-led 20-party’s nonstop blockade across the country, causing damage to hundreds of vehicles.

At the same time, the owners said that night buses would resume movement as per the previous schedule once the safety and security are ensured at the vulnerable points.

The decision was taken at a meeting between the transport owners and State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan at the latter’s office here on Monday afternoon.

Arson and petrol bomb attacks on buses and trucks on highways at night killed over 50 people during the blockade since Jan 6.
