The BNP-led 20-party alliance on Friday again called 72-hour hartal to begin from Sunday.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed in a statement on Friday made the announcement.
After ending hartal during five working days last week alongside nonstop roads, waterways and railways blockade, BNP declared hartal again.
In the statement sent to the media, Salahuddin Ahmed said hartal would be observed from at 6am on Sunday to at 6pm on Wednesday to press home demand of release of arrested leaders and activists and to protest countrywide killings and torturing of the leaders and activists.
The alliance earlier enforced hartal from February 1 to February 5.
