Shramik-Karmachari-Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Samannay Parishad on Wednesday announced various programmes, including a national convention on February 7, protesting ongoing violence, petrol bomb attacks and killings of innocent peoples in the name of politics.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, also the convener of the Sammany Parishad, announced the programmes from a press conference held at National Press Club in the capital.
Reading out a written statement, Shahjahan Khan urged people from all strata, irrespective of political identities, to get united and wage a protest against the killing innocent people by hurling petrol bombs and arson attacks and ruining the educational life of 15 lakh SSC and equivalent candidates in the name of blockade and hartal.
He alleged that BNP chairperson Khladea Zia and her accomplices are doing all these to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan as a revenge of their defeat in 1971.
Shajahan Khan also said the economy of the country is suffering heavily from the ongoing violence in the name of political programmes.
The programmes announced from the press conference include a protest of people from all professions in front of their respective organisations and a unique protest through honking the horns of vehicles on the street on February 5.
Muktijoddha Sangsad vice president Ismat Kabir Gama and the Samannay Parishad's member secretary Abdul Malek Mia was present at the press conference.    ?UNB
