Another Chouddagram arson victim dies at DMCH

Another victim of arson attack on a bus in Chouddagram of Comilla district died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday, raising the death toll to 8.

Rashedul Islam, 25, son of Syed Ahmed of Chokoria in Cox’s Bazar district, died at 5:20pm at ICU of DMCH.

Rashedul, a father of two sons, was coming to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar as he was to fly for Qatar. Rashedul was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of DMCH with 80 percent burn in his body, doctors said.

Seven people were burnt to death on the spot and 16 others received injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb on the Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Icon Paribahan’ from Chittagong at Jogmohonpur in Chouddagram upazila during the nationwide 72-hour hartal, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance early Tuesday.
