The High Court (HC) today set February 9 to hold hearing on rule passed by the court upon two writ petitions filed by BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in Gatco graft case.
A division bench comprising Justice Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan set the date accepting a plea of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for holding the hearing into the matter.
"Following two writ petitions filed by Khaleda Zia in the case, the HC had passed rule. Accepting a plea filed on behalf of the complainant, ACC, for holding hearing on the rule, the court has set February 9," told Md Khurshid Alam Khan, counsel for ACC.
ACC filed the case against 13 people, including Khaleda and her younger son Arafat Rahman on September 2, 2007 with Tejgaon police station. Police submitted charge-sheet against 24 on May 13, 2008.
