Relief and Disaster Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram said here on Tuesday there is no scope for any compromise with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia as innocent people are being killed at her directives in the name of movement.
"The next general election will be held in 2019 as per the constitution and you (Khaleda Zia) would have to wait for the next four years," he said while addressing an anti-hartal rally as the chief guest at Bangabandhu Avenue here.
"Khaleda Zia has become alone as there is none with her. She calls blockade and hartal and is getting no response from the people," Maya said adding that Khaleda should realize it and shun the politics of vengeance.
Describing Khaleda Zia as illiterate, he said, "You (Khaleda Zia) can't realize the value of education as you are an illiterate person. If you understand the need of education, you can't enforce hartal at the time of examination.
The minister requested Dhaka City AL leaders and activists to guard the centres during the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations beginning today.     ?BSS
