SI sent to jail in Madaripur dowry case

Madaripur, Feb 3: A court here on Tuesday sent a police officer to jail rejecting his bail petition in a case filed by his wife for demanding dowry.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Jakaria passed the order when sub-inspector Mahidur Rahman Sumon of Sutrapur Police Station in the capital surrendered before the court, seeking bail in the case.
According to the case statement, Shikha Akter, daughter of Makbul Fakir of Khatial village in Kalkini upazila was married off to Sumon, son of Motahar Miah of Doulashpur village in Sadar upazila, in 2010.     ?UNB
