
Among the dead, five were identified as-- Yusuf, 55, hailed from Cox's Bazar, businessman Nuruzzaman Poplu, 50, and his daughter Maisha, 16, a student of Jessore Police Lines School, from Jessore, Asma Begum and his son Shanto.
Victim Nuruzzaman Foplu's wife Mita is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Foplu alongwith his family members were returning home from Cox's Bazar.
Monir Hossain, assistant director of Comilla Fire Service, said unknown miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Dhaka-bound bus of 'Icon Paribahan' on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 3:30am, leaving seven of its passengers dead on the spot and 16 others injured.

Those who were admitted to DMCH are : M Hanif, 35, and M Rashedul Islam, 20, of Cox's Bazar; M Farooque Ahmed, 23, and M Jilkad, 19, of Manikganj; Arif Shikder, 30, of Faridpur; and Shafiqul Islam, 18, and M Sharif, 25, of Narayanganj.
