DB grills four BNP big shots

Four big shots of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have so far been taken to the Detective Branch (DB) Police Headquarters at Mintoo Road for questioning.  
A Dhaka Court on Monday placed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Mosaddak Ali Falu on a five-day remand in a case filed for torching a bus in Khilgaon area of Dhaka on January 30.
According to the case statement, Falu was made accused in the case for masterminding and instigating the arson attack on Bishwa Road near Khilgaon Flyover on January 30.
Falu, a former lawmaker, also financed and ordered to carry out the attack that left four passengers burnt, the plaintiff said. DB police on Sunday picked up Falu from in front of the Khaleda's Gulshan office. He was taken to the DB HQs for interrogation.  
Earlier, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Acting Secretary General and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed Joint Secretary General of BNP were taken to Mintoo Road for interrogation.
A Dhaka Court on Monday placed Shamsuzzaman Dudu, an adviser to Khaleda Zia, on a four-day remand in a case filed for blasting a crude bomb in Dhaka. Arrested on January 11, Dudu was shown arrested in the case a week later.
An official of DB police preferring anonymity told The Daily Observer on Monday that four BNP big-shots were grilled at the DB HQ in connection with the charges brought against them.
