Khaleda, 3 other BNP leaders sued for blockade deaths

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and three other leaders have been sued for killing 42 people during the 20-party alliance's anti-government movement since January 5.

Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddique filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday morning.

Taking the case into account, Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman ordered Gulshan police to investigate the incident.

The three other leaders are--BNP chairperson's adviser Dr Emaz Uddin Ahmed, vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Miah.

According to the case statement, the members of BNP-led 20-party combined hurled petrol bombs in different places of the country during their nonstop blockade that left 42 people killed.
