Awami League Publicity Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud threatened to cut off all utility connections to the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office, where the BNP chief is staying for about a month now.
The threat came in the face of continued nationwide transport blockade and infrequent hartal (shutdown) programmes ahead of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. Hasan said that stern action would be enforced unless she withdraws the decision.
The utility facilities included water supply, gas connection, land phone connection and other facilities. Earlier on the Friday night power supply to the office building was cut off.
The ruling party leader sent the warning at a human chain programme of Awami Hawkers League in front of the National Press Club on Saturday in the capital.
