Rangpur: Four leaders of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been
suspended for three months for their anti-organisational activities.
The action was taken at an emergency meeting of the unit held on Thursday.
The meeting also decided to write to the central committee of the ruling party’s student wing to expel them from the organisation.
The suspended BCL leaders are university unit vice-presidents Rokonuzzaman Rokon and Mohammad Ali, joint secretaries Titas Chandra Roy and Rajib Mondal.
A press released signed by Mehedi Hasan Shishir and Mostofa Mahamud Hasan, president and secretary respectively of the unit, said the suspended leaders have long been involved drug trading and others
crimes.
They also allegedly beat Obaidul Islam, another joint secretary of the unit, recently.
