
It was a remarkable series victory for Bangladesh U-19 as they bounced back from behind to defeats and won the last three matches to win the series.
The young Tigers won the toss and opted to bat first. The consistent performer of the series for Bangladesh Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 92 off 112 balls as well as his fourth fifty of the tour to help his side to score 212 for nine in 50 overs.
Nazmul also ended up as the highest scorer in the ODI series with 284 runs.
Alongside with his leading role Nazmul added 82 runs with Zakir Hasan who made 42 off 62 balls for the fourth wicket.
For Lankan U-19, pace bowlers Asitha Fernando and Malinga Amarasinghe took three wickets each.
In replay, Sri Lankan openers Lasith Lakshan and Shalindu Ushan started perfectly adding 82 for the opening stand. But Sanjit Saha broke the pair taking the wicket Lasith Lakshan. After that the host lost their wicket in regular interval while Bangladesh spinners came into their own and Lankan innings stopped at 198.
For Bangladesh, legspinner Saleh Ahmed took three wickets while offspinners Mehedy Hasan and Sanjit Saha, and pace bowler Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets each.
The two teams will now play the first three-day Youth Test match from January 28 in Dambulla, followed by the second game in Pallekele from February 2.
