Kushtia, Jan 24: A primary school headmaster was shot to death by miscreants at Mahendrapur village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Munsi Rabiul Islam, 45, headmaster of Mahendrapur Government Primary School.
Officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station Lutfar Rahman said a gang of miscreants swooped on Rabiul in front of his house in the area and opened fire at him at about 1:00 am while he was returning home riding a motorcycle, leaving him critically injured.
Rabiul was rushed to Kumarkhali Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Saturday morning.    ?UNB
