In a major reshuffle in police administration, 19 senior police officials including an Additional IGP, three DIGs and three additional DIGs have been transferred.
The Home Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Thursday afternoon.
Additional IGP Sheikh Himayet Hossain of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has been made chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
CID DIG Mosharaf Hossain was transferred to the Department of Police, Dhaka (TR) and
Additional DIG of Chittagong Range Police SM Ruhul Amin was given the charge of DIG of Railway Dhaka Range. He had earlier joined the Police Headquarters on completion of a foreign mission.
DIG of Railway Dhaka Range Mallick Fakhrul Islam was transferred to the Highway Police while Additional DIG of Highway Police SM Kamal Hossain was posted to the CID, Additional DIG of Special Branch (SB) Mohammad Ali Miah has been transferred to Rajshahi Range and Additional DIG of Rajshahi Range M. Khurshid Alam to the Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, 12 officers with the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), who have recently joined the Police Headquarters on completion of their foreign missions, were assigned for new postings.
Of them, Sarder Rafiqul Islam was posted to Narail while Sayeed Tariqul Ahsan to Rangamati, Nawroz Hasan Talukder and Sarder Nurul Amin to the Tourist Police of Dhaka and Anwar Kamal and Md. Shahriar to Shipping Police of Dhaka.
Besides, Mostafa Kamal, Julfikar Ali Haider and Miah Masud Karim were given postings to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) while Iqbal Hossain to Police Staff College, Mohammad Abdul Jabbar to Department of Police and Sajjadur Rahman to Rangpur Police Training Centre.
