DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 12.81 points to end the session at 4969.73 points on Tuesday amid a thin trading, hit by an ongoing opposition-led transport blockade between the capital and rest of the country, dealers said
The turnover dropped to Tk 4.04 billion, a Tk 120 million down against the previous day's trading. Out of 311 traded issues, 155 rose, 108 fell while 48 remained unchanged on the day. IDLC, BEDL, Saifpower, Fu-wang Food, Western Marine and DESCO were the top turnover leaders on the day while Northern Jute, Libra Infusion, Peninsula Chittagong, Alhaj Textile, BBS and National Housing were the top gainers, according to DSE daily market update.
The results of transaction at the country's other bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), were not available till filing the report due to a glitch in the wed of the bourse.
