Rangamati: The curfew, which was earlier imposed by local administration, has been withdrawn only for three hours.
The curfew has been withdrawn from 8am to 11am as some people are confined at some places for sudden announcement of the curfew.
After 11am, the curfew will resume for an indefinite period.
Shamsul Arefin, deputy commissioner of Rangamati, declared the curfew around 7:30pm on Sunday after violence spread to different parts of the hilly district in sequel to clashes between Pahari Chhatra Parishad and Bangalee settlers including BCL activists.
Additional forces have been deployed in the district to maintain law and order situation.
Tense situation is prevailing in the district.
