Detective Branch of police arrested BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury from his residence in the capital on Thursday night.

Sources said, plainclothes police picked him up from his Banani residence around 11:15pm.

He was later taken to the Mintoo Road DB headquarters.

Police and detectives cordoned off Chowdhury's DOHS house from 11pm.
