A Dhaka court on Wednesday passed order to send BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail rejecting both the bail and remand prayers in an arson case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan also asked the law enforcers to question him at the jail gate by next 10 days
Earlier, the Detective Branch of Police produced the BNP leader before his court with 10 days remand prayer while Fakhrul’s lawyers submitted bail the petition.
Mirza Fakhrul was shown arrested in the case relating to creating violence on January 5 at Paltan area in the capital.
Paltan Thana SI Zulhash Miah filed the case accusing 29 BNP men, including Mirza Fakhrul, with Tareque Moinul Islam’s court.
Fakhrul was detained on Tuesday afternoon as he came out of the National Press Club premises after staying there nearly 24 hours. Since then, he had been kept in the DB office.
